Each fiscal year, the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury conducts an audit of finances in each of the state's 95 counties.
Scott County's annual financial report for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 was released Friday, March 25, 2011. The audit contained two findings:
1.) In the office of Circuit and General Sessions Courts Clerk, the execution docket trial balance in General Sessions Court did not reconcile with cash control records.
2.) Duties were not segregated adequately among the officials and employees in the offices of County Clerk, Circuit and General Sessions Courts Clerk, Clerk and Master, Register and Sheriff.
